Short biography: I am interested in advancing optical imaging techniques for material metrology and biomedical applications that can improve our human life. I obtained my doctoral degree from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. Before joining CUHK in 2017, I was a postdoctoral research associate at the George R. Harrison Spectroscopy Lab M.I.T. Here is the link to my profile.

Xin Shu

Short biography: I got my bachelor's degree from Sichuan University in 2017 majoring in Electrical Engineering and Automation. Then I serve as an intern in Medical Imaging and Health Center, Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen from 2017 to 2018. In August 2018, I become a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering in CUHK. I like traveling, spicy food and novels. My research interests include optical image analysis, biomedical image processing and its practical application. I hope to do something to help illness diagnosis and treatment.
Chaodu Shi

Short biography: I received my Bachelor's degree from Henan Polytechnic University in 2017. In 2023, I graduated my PhD degree from Tianjin University. My main research interests include laser generation, fiber laser amplification, linewidth-suppression of single-frequency fiber lasers, new wavelength fiber lasers and nonlinear effect in fiber system.

Short biography: I graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments. I have mainly studied courses in optics, mechanics and electronics. I am very interested in microscopic imaging. In my spare time I often play the Chinese national musical instrument Ruan.

Yijin Wang

Short biography: I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After graduation, I joined a pharmaceutical enterprise named Yunnan Baiyao Group Co., Ltd, where I worked as a medical project specialist, mainly conducting clinical projects. My research interest is in investigating optical strategies that obtain a high spatial and temporal resolution, high sensitivity, high contrast, and high speed to remotely and non-invasively control intracellular processes.
Andreas Zheng

Short biography: My name is Andreas and I am from Germany. I studied Physics at the Technical University of Munich and obtained both my Bachelor and Master degrees there. I´m interested in optical imaging techniques and super-resolution microscopy. In my free time I like reading, riding the bike and watching movies.
Nansen Zhou

Short biography: I got my bachelor's degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2020, majoring in Optical and Electronic Information Science and Engineering. Personally I like traveling, music and Chinese calligraphy. My research interests include optical imaging techniques and super-resolution microscopy. I hope to apply these techniques to clinical diagnosis and help to improve the medical treatment.

Short biography: I got my master degree from Zhejiang University and studied in UCLA before coming to CUHK. My research interests are in computational imaging, perception of robotics and their associated applications.
Hongfei Zhu

Short biography: I got my bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University in 2021, majoring in Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering. During my undergraduate, I focused on super-resolution microscopy, like 3D-SIM and FPM. I am interested in developing new super-resolution microscopy based on quantum optics and organically integrating phase imaging and super-resolution imaging. I hope to explore smaller resolutions and broader application scenarios in biomedical fields. In my free time I enjoy cooking and playing basketball.
Heng Du

Short biography: I graduated from the Nanyang Technological University in June, 2022, majoring Power Engineering. My master degree dissertation focused on the speckle imaging with scattering media. I receieved my B.Eng. degree in 2021 from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, majoring Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and its Automation. My major research interests are computational imaging, quantitative phase imaging and optical diffraction tomography.

Short biography: I obtained my master's degree in Medicine from Peking University and worked as a full time ophthalmologist for nearly one year. I finally chose to further my exploration in the scientific world. I am now interested in label-free imaging for neurobiology applications and optogenetic tools for neuroprotection.

I hope to develop cutting-edge and translational bio-photonics technologies that interface and bridge optics and medical diagnosis.
